San Polo Artist Studio

The project for the studio of a contemporary artist in San Polo seeks to adapt an existing industrial space into a modern atelier for the production and exhibition of large-scale artworks which range in materiality from steel to resin and wax.
The intervention focuses on the re-distribution of the spaces to create a clear and optimized programmatic distribution which seeks to preserve the more curious architectural elements whilst enabling a flexible and diverse use of the space at the intersection between studio, gallery and (when necessary) apartment. From a systems perspective, the project includes the installation of an advanced MEP system to allow for the handling of dangerous fumes within the historic center of Venice and the exchange of all fixtures with contemporary high-performance solutions to allow for optimum working and exhibition conditions whilst allowing for the handling of large scale works.
