RESOLUTIONS FOR THE ANTARCTIC
International Stations and the Antarctic Data Space
On occasion of the vernissage of the exhibition “RESOLUTIONS FOR THE ANTARCTIC: International Stations and the Antarctic Data Space”, UNLESS founder Giulia Foscari talks to Juan Du, Dean of the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto.
The conversation unfolds the evolution of the project of Antarctic Resolution from its undertaking as a research project embedded within a network of academic institutions, the Polar Lab, to the realization of the publication and subsequent presentation and actions undertaken by UNLESS to build a constituency for our only continent with no indigenous population. Specifically when discussing the findings of the project, the conversation analyses the redundancies and nationalistic agendas which govern the way we construct, inhabit and manage this terrestrial Global Commons.
